Naxieli Gomez, known as Nah-yeh-lee, is an accomplished visual artist, art director, and designer originally from Mexico City and now making her home in Austin, Texas. Her artistic roots trace back to the renowned art academy “Academia de San Carlos (UNAM)” in Mexico City, where she earned her graduate degree.

Starting her career in motion graphics at Canal Once in Mexico City, Naxieli ventured to New York City at the age of 25. There, she co-founded a bilingual design studio in Greenwich Village, which flourished until 2010. In 2013, she and her family settled in Austin, marking a turning point as she delved into painting. Her works have since found a home in exhibitions at La Peña Gallery and other local venues.

Naxieli’s appreciation for all forms of art, her enthusiasm for exploring new mediums, and her curiosity about evolving technologies define her creative spirit. Currently serving as the Creative Director of a progressive political tech company, she skillfully navigates the intersection of art and technology. Additionally, she maintains a painting studio at Canopy Austin, not only as a personal space but also as a platform to foster community among fellow artists.

Her paintings tell a personal story, projecting the experiences of an immigrant woman of Mexican Indian descent living in the U.S. Each piece is a reflection of identity, resilience, and the delicate balance between cultural heritage and contemporary life. Naxieli Gomez’s art serves as a bridge, connecting diverse perspectives and weaving a narrative that speaks to shared human experiences.
